Travel Tips
This page contains important information so PLEASE read this carefully!

1. Book your flight to Soekarno Hatta International airport in Jakarta. PLEASE make sure that you arrive with enough time to start our roundtrip before 16th November.
2. To enter Indonesia you need a tourist visa. Make sure you have a VOA (Visa on arrival).
> You can do this online at https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/ . You can also do this at the airport in Jakarta upon arrival but it will delay your trip. In both cases you need a passport (valid longer than 6 months), recent pass photo and a return ticket. You should do this as soon as possible because this service works slowly.
3. If you like to arrive earlier before or stay longer after our textile roundtrip you should book a flexible ticket so you can change it any time. If you like to stay longer than 30 days, you will need an extension to your visa.
4. When you have transfers at the airport to foreign locations, make sure you arrive at least 3 hours before. Rechecking your luggage may take so much time, you may miss your connection.
5. Protect yourself with adequate travel insurance that covers illness, admission repatriation, loss, theft, damage and cancellation
6. You may trust that if you take the usual measures Jakarta is quite safe to discover on your own. You can safely walk around or go to a cash point.
The traffic in Jakarta is extremely busy. We don’t recommend renting a car or scooter, but use the available transport like taxi’s, Bajaj (tuktuk) or drivers.
7. Find a telecom shop to buy a local prepaid simcard. This will give you internet at all time in case you need information like GPS or Google translate. The staff in the shop will help you set it up.
8. Useful apps you can download:
> GRAB : you can order a taxi or food delivery very quickly (you have to connect your creditcard)
> TRAVELOKA : book travel tickets very quickly (train, flights)
9. In Indonesia most payments or purchases are still done in cash. You can find ATM’s almost everywhere in Java and Bali. Some other island don’t have the same facilities, so make sure you have ample funds when visiting those.
Personal items to bring:
• Some medicins against upset stomach or bowls and travel sickness.
• Sunscreen factor 50
• Sun hat/cap and sun glasses
• Swimsuit
• Safe enough space in your luggage for fabrics, dyes and other purchases
